Revision on Waste Framework Directive focusses on Textile and Food Waste

On 5 July 2023, the Commission published its plan to revise the Waste Framework Directive with a focus limited to new rules on the extended producer responsibility for textile and new food waste reduction targets.

The revision suggests a framework for implementing EPR for textiles in Europe and makes proposals for

  • financing of collection, sorting, reuse and recycling
  • eco-modulation
